At A$111,000 per coin, 0.00002 BTC is about A$2.20 and 0.0001 BTC about A$11, so on a A$100 deposit the send fee matters more than the trading fee. Buying BTC by card is a crypto purchase, not a gambling transaction, so the 2024 credit-card gambling ban (which binds Australian-licensed operators) does not apply; PayID is free at all five anyway.

Bitcoin ATMs. Localcoin’s Australian fee page works its example at a 12% service fee plus a A$4 flat fee; CHOICE quoted 18% plus A$4. Since June 2025 AUSTRAC caps ATM cash transactions at A$5,000 with enhanced ID checks, and in August 2026 it suspended operator Cryptolink. An exchange costs a tenth as much.
Setting it up
Sending straight from the exchange to the casino works and is what most people do. A self-custody wallet adds a step but keeps the casino’s address off your exchange history and gives you fee control:
- BlueWallet (iOS, Android, macOS): on-chain and Lightning; “speed up, cancel or batch transactions with RBF and CPFP”.
- Sparrow (desktop): full coin and fee control, hardware-wallet support, public servers or your own node.
- Exodus (desktop, iOS, Android): simplest; fees adjustable in the advanced menu, and the desktop version can sweep BCH sent to a BTC address by mistake.
The casino needs an on-chain address. Joe Fortune (not recommended) is the only casino in our files listing Lightning; none of the seven recommended casinos does.
Fees, limits and timing
What the casino charges. Nothing, at any of the seven. Deposit minimums are €5 (Bizzo), A$20 (Richard), €20 (Golden Crown, Spin Samurai), A$25 (RocketPlay) and A$30 (Neospin, Need for Spin); the outlier is Golden Crown’s 0.0006 BTC floor recorded by LCB. RocketPlay caps one BTC withdrawal at 0.6 BTC. Deposits must be wagered once before withdrawal at RocketPlay and Richard (3x outside slots at Richard), three times at Spin Samurai, and Need for Spin charges 10% on an unwagered deposit sent back.
What the network charges. Fees are per virtual byte and a simple send is about 140 vB. mempool.space’s block data shows median rates of 1–2 sat/vB for the past twelve months, never above 6 — under A$1 a transaction. Spikes are rare but real: 467 sat/vB on 16 December 2023 and 1,186 sat/vB on 20 April 2024, the halving day, which is about A$185 for the same send at today’s price. Check mempool.space before setting a fee by hand.
Timing. Deposits: 10–30 minutes for one to three confirmations. Withdrawals: approval (up to 24 hours at RocketPlay, 24–72 at Need for Spin, 0–48 at Neospin, “within 72” at Spin Samurai; Golden Crown, Need for Spin and Spin Samurai do not process at weekends), then the on-chain send, then your exchange’s confirmation count.
When it fails
Wrong chain. Bitcoin Cash addresses can also start with “1”, and Swyftx and Binance both list a BEP-20 or “BSC” network for BTC. A cashier address beginning bc1 or 3 wants the Bitcoin network only; BTC sent as a BEP-20 token is gone. BCH that lands in your own BTC wallet can be recovered with Exodus Desktop’s “Sweep for Bitcoin Cash”; an exchange may not help.
Stuck at a low fee. Not lost — mempool.space’s FAQ: it “will always either confirm completely (or not at all) at some point”. If the wallet sent it with RBF, rebroadcast at a higher rate; otherwise, if you control an output, spend from it with CPFP at a rate high enough to pull the parent through. Exchange sends cannot be bumped by you; CoinSpot says only that a small fee “could take longer”.
Casino shows “pending”. Paste the TXID into mempool.space. Zero confirmations means the network; one or more and still uncredited after an hour means the cashier — contact support with the TXID.
Bitcoin missing from the cashier. Some cashiers show coins by account currency. USDT on Tron is at all seven of the same casinos.
Withdrawing
Request the payout, paste an address you control, wait for approval. Minimums: A$20 (Richard), A$30 (RocketPlay), €20 (Spin Samurai), €50 (Need for Spin); Neospin publishes one only for bank transfer (A$300). After the exchange’s one to three confirmations, sell at the trading fees above and withdraw by PayID or Osko the same day.
Tax. The ATO’s page on crypto prizes and gambling winnings says not to include “winnings or losses from gambling” in capital gains, and that a crypto asset you win has as its cost base “its market value at the time you won it” — selling later is a CGT event on any change from that value (its example: a $20,000 win sold for $30,000 two years on, a $10,000 gain). Inland Revenue’s New Zealand rule is that cryptoassets acquired “for the purpose of disposing of them” are taxed on the profit whatever the holding period; we found no IRD guidance on gambling winnings paid in crypto, so ask an accountant if the sums are large.
