Litecoin casinos in Australia and NZ: where to buy LTC, fees, and how withdrawals work

Litecoin does the same job as Bitcoin at a casino cashier for a fraction of the fee: blocks every 2.5 minutes, a network fee of cents, and a place on the deposit and withdrawal list of every casino we recommend. Here is where Australians and New Zealanders buy it, which address to use, and what to do when a deposit stalls.

How to deposit with Litecoin

1
Buy LTC on a local exchange
CoinSpot, Swyftx, Independent Reserve, Kraken and Coinbase all list Litecoin for AUD; Easy Crypto and Independent Reserve sell it for NZD. Fund the account by PayID or bank transfer rather than card, buy the amount you want to deposit plus a small margin, and keep the exchange app open.
2
Get the casino's LTC address
Open the cashier, choose Litecoin (it may be listed as LTC) and copy the deposit address. It will start with L, M or ltc1. Do not paste it into a Bitcoin send form: a Bitcoin '3…' address is also a valid old-style Litecoin address, which is how coins vanish.
3
Send from the exchange or wallet
Paste the address into the exchange's Litecoin withdrawal form, choose the Litecoin network (not MWEB or 'private'), and confirm. The exchange deducts its flat fee — 0.001 LTC at Independent Reserve — and the transaction shows on a block explorer within a minute.
4
Wait for confirmations
A block arrives every 2.5 minutes. Casino processors typically credit after two confirmations and hold larger sums for six, so expect 5 to 15 minutes. If the cashier still says pending after 30 minutes, take the transaction ID to support.

Pros and cons

Accepted for deposits and withdrawals at all seven casinos we recommend, and at every casino in our list that takes Bitcoin except one
Blocks every 2.5 minutes and a network fee under a cent, against 10-minute blocks and dollar-level fees on Bitcoin
Listed on every major Australian exchange, so buying and selling back to AUD costs well under 1%
Withdrawals are stated as instant after approval at three of our casinos and no casino publishes an LTC fee
Three address formats (L…, M…, ltc1…) and some cashiers and exchanges reject the newest one
Coins sent to a Bitcoin '3…' address or through MWEB privacy mode are usually unrecoverable
Four of the seven casinos verify ID before the first withdrawal regardless of the coin
Fewer exchanges list LTC than BTC or USDT outside the big Australian names

Where to get Litecoin in Australia and New Zealand

Litecoin is a 2011 offshoot of Bitcoin’s code that changed two numbers: blocks every 2.5 minutes instead of 10, and 84 million coins instead of 21 million. The Litecoin learning centre puts the average network fee at under a cent. For a casino player that is the whole case: a deposit confirms four times faster than Bitcoin, the fee is a rounding error, and every casino in our list that takes BTC takes LTC, bar ThePokies.net.

Every exchange in our USDT guide lists LTC for Australian dollars, so the funding facts from that guide carry over.

In New Zealand, Easy Crypto sells LTC for NZD by bank transfer at a quoted price and delivers it to any Litecoin address, creating a wallet for you if you have none; Independent Reserve runs NZD accounts with the same 0.001 LTC withdrawal fee. Kraken and Coinbase do not take NZD.

Setting it up

You can deposit straight from the exchange, but a withdrawal needs an address you control, so a wallet is worth having.

  • Nexus Wallet (iOS and Android) is the Litecoin Foundation’s own app, released June 2025. It replaced Litewallet, which the Foundation sunset on 31 December 2025 — if you still have Litewallet, move the coins. Nexus has a “Private Litecoin” switch that turns on MWEB; leave it off for anything involving an exchange or casino (see below).
  • Exodus (desktop and mobile) and Trust Wallet (mobile) hold LTC alongside other coins. Trust Wallet issues ltc1 addresses only.
  • Ledger hardware wallets manage LTC through Ledger Live and suit anything you are not about to gamble.

Litecoin addresses come in three shapes: legacy ones start with L, SegWit-in-P2SH ones with M (older software used 3, the same prefix as Bitcoin), native SegWit ones with ltc1. Any current wallet can send to any of them, but some casino cashiers and exchange withdrawal forms still validate against the old formats and refuse ltc1. If a cashier rejects your ltc1 withdrawal address, use an L or M address instead (Exodus on desktop can show more than one type; Trust Wallet cannot) or route the payout to your exchange’s LTC deposit address.

At the casino there is nothing to enable: choose Litecoin in the deposit tab and copy the address it shows.

Fees, limits and timing

What the network charges. Under a cent by Litecoin’s own figure, plus the exchange’s flat withdrawal fee — 0.001 LTC at Independent Reserve, a few cents at current prices.

What the casino charges. None of the seven recommended casinos publishes a Litecoin fee. Minimums differ: Bizzo takes crypto from €5, Richard Casino from A$20, Spin Samurai and Golden Crown from €20 equivalent, RocketPlay from A$25; Neospin and Need for Spin publish no crypto deposit minimum. On the way out, Richard pays from A$20, Spin Samurai and Golden Crown from €20, RocketPlay from A$30 and Need for Spin from €50.

Confirmations. Casinos do not publish how many blocks they wait for. CoinsPaid, one of the largest processors behind casino cashiers, publishes 2 confirmations for LTC and 6 for larger transactions, with a 0.01 LTC minimum: 5 to 15 minutes at 2.5 minutes a block, against 10–30 minutes for the one to three confirmations on our Bitcoin page. Exchanges wait longer on the way back; Kraken, for one, credits Bitcoin only after four confirmations (about 40 minutes).

Limits. Withdrawal caps belong to the casino, not the coin — from A$800 a day at Need for Spin to A$15,000 a day at Golden Crown — and a big win is paid in instalments like any other.

When it fails

Sent to a Bitcoin address. A wallet refuses a “1…” or “bc1…” address in a Litecoin send form, but a Bitcoin “3…” address passes because early Litecoin used the same P2SH prefix. The coins land on the Litecoin chain under keys held by whoever owns that Bitcoin address: an exchange may recover them for a fee, a casino’s BTC deposit address usually means they are gone.

MWEB and “private” sends. MWEB hides amounts and addresses, and MWEB addresses start with ltc1mweb. Binance’s notice says MWEB deposits “will not be received or returned … resulting in the direct loss of funds”; assume any other exchange or cashier behaves the same. Keep privacy mode off and never give an ltc1mweb address as a withdrawal destination.

Deposit pending. Find the transaction on a block explorer via the exchange’s withdrawal history. Zero confirmations after ten minutes means the exchange has not broadcast it yet — check whether the withdrawal is in review. Confirmations climbing but no credit after 30 minutes means the processor is holding for the higher count or has not matched the payment; give support the transaction ID.

Withdrawing

Every casino we recommend pays out in Litecoin. Stated timings after approval are instant at Richard Casino, RocketPlay and Golden Crown, about 45 minutes at Neospin, 0–24 hours at Need for Spin, and within 72 hours (usually under 24) at Spin Samurai; Bizzo gives no crypto figure. Approval takes up to 24 hours at RocketPlay, 48 at Neospin and 24–72 at Need for Spin, and Spin Samurai, Golden Crown and Need for Spin do not process payouts at weekends.

Identity checks vary by casino, not by coin. RocketPlay states that crypto players need no verification before their first withdrawal; Bizzo, Golden Crown, Need for Spin and Neospin ask for ID and proof of address before the first payout; Richard Casino and Spin Samurai publish no rule.

Give the casino a wallet address, or your exchange’s LTC deposit address if you mean to sell at once; selling costs the same trading fee as buying, and CoinSpot, for one, withdraws AUD to a bank account free.

On tax, the ATO’s page on crypto prizes and gambling winnings says winnings are not ordinary income and that capital gains and losses made “directly from winnings or losses from gambling” are left out of CGT. Keep the LTC and sell later, and the cost base is its market value on the day you won it; any rise from there is a capital gain. The page does not say whether depositing coins you bought earlier is itself a disposal, so if your LTC has appreciated since purchase, get advice before relying on the exemption.

FAQ

Which online casinos accept Litecoin in Australia?
All seven casinos we recommend — Bizzo, Golden Crown, Need for Spin, Neospin, Richard Casino, RocketPlay and Spin Samurai — list LTC for deposits and withdrawals, and the toplist on this page is generated from those reviews. Across our whole list, ThePokies.net is the only Bitcoin casino that does not take Litecoin.
How fast is a Litecoin casino withdrawal?
Richard Casino and RocketPlay describe crypto withdrawals as instant once approved, Neospin quotes about 45 minutes, Golden Crown says instant and Need for Spin 0–24 hours; Spin Samurai commits to 72 hours but says most go out within a day. The approval queue is the real wait: up to 24 hours at RocketPlay, 48 at Neospin, 24–72 at Need for Spin, and Spin Samurai, Golden Crown and Need for Spin do not process payouts at weekends.
Where can I buy Litecoin in Australia?
CoinSpot, Swyftx, Independent Reserve, Kraken and Coinbase all sell LTC for Australian dollars and let you send it to any Litecoin address. PayID deposits are free at all of them; trading fees run from 0.10% at CoinSpot market orders to 0.60% at Swyftx, and the exchange charges a flat network fee when you withdraw (0.001 LTC at Independent Reserve).
Are Litecoin casino winnings taxed in Australia?
The ATO says gambling winnings are not ordinary income and that capital gains or losses made directly from gambling are disregarded for CGT. What is taxed is what happens afterwards: if you keep the LTC you won and sell it later for more than it was worth on the day you won it, the difference is a capital gain. The ATO page does not address whether the deposit itself is a disposal of coins you bought earlier at a lower price; ask an accountant if that applies to you.
