Sugar Rush 1000 in two minutes

Sugar Rush 1000 is Pragmatic Play’s re-release of Sugar Rush, out as an operator exclusive on 8 March 2024 and in wide distribution from 18 March. Same 7 × 7 cluster-pays grid, same symbols, same tumble engine, same free-spins ladder. Three things changed, and they are the only reasons to treat it as a separate game.

The multiplier that builds on each marked spot gets three more doublings: the original stops at 128x, this one runs on to 256x, 512x and 1,024x. The maximum win rises from 5,000x stake to 25,000x. And a second feature buy is added at 500x stake alongside the usual 100x. The cluster rule, symbol set, scatter ladder and absence of an Ante Bet carry over unchanged.

How it plays

Five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a cluster, pay, and tumble away. Every position a winning symbol vacated is marked, and each further win on a marked spot doubles a multiplier there from 2x. The original’s page explains the mechanic in full.

The extra doublings are worth less than they look. Reaching the top of the new ladder needs one spot to win four more times than it already had to, on a grid where marks reset every spin in the base game. The ceiling is a free-spins-only number, and even there most positions never get past 8x or 16x. What the longer ladder does is shift return out of the middle of the distribution and into the tail: the same money, arriving less often and in bigger lumps.

Bets start at 0.20 units, A$0.20 at an AUD casino. The top of the ladder is disputed — Bigwinboard and SlotCatalog both record a 240-unit maximum for this version against 100 for the original, while AskGamblers gives no maximum. Your casino sets its own cap anyway. There is no Ante Bet, in this version or the original.

Bonus features

Free spins. Three, four, five, six or seven scatters award 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins — the same ladder as the original, per Bigwinboard, and the same rule change: marks and multipliers no longer clear between spins, so a spot that reaches 64x on the third free spin is still 64x on the last and keeps doubling if it keeps winning.

Worth correcting, because several review sites have it wrong: persistent free-spins multipliers are not new to the 1000. The original always kept them for the whole round; only the ceiling moved.

Bonus buy. The standard buy is 100x stake, as before. New is a Super buy at 500x. Bigwinboard and AskGamblers describe it as starting with every position already marked at 2x; SlotCatalog describes a graded grid of 16x, 8x, 4x and 2x rings, so read the in-game rules before spending 500x on a summary. Published returns for both buys sit within a few hundredths of the base figure: buying changes the shape of a session, not the long-run return.

RTP and volatility

Pragmatic Play’s own game page for Sugar Rush 1000 currently prints 96.00%, while its page for the original still prints 96.50%. Every database we checked — Bigwinboard, SlotCatalog and AskGamblers — records the default at 96.53%, and the first two also list a 95.50% build. Both show a 97.50% build as well, which nothing else we found confirms. We cannot reconcile the studio’s 96.00% with the databases’ 96.53%, so treat each as a claim about a build rather than the figure, and take yours from the game’s info panel in real-money mode.

The gap in money: on A$1,000 of turnover, two percentage points of RTP is A$20, and the step from 96.53% to 95.50% is about A$10.

Volatility is at the studio’s maximum, with a cap five times the original’s on a base game that pays fractions of stake for a five-symbol cluster.

Where to play Sugar Rush 1000 in Australia and New Zealand

Pragmatic Play is standard at offshore casinos taking Australian and New Zealand players. Of the casinos we have reviewed, RocketPlay, Spin Samurai and Richard Casino all name Pragmatic Play in the pokies section of their review and run AUD accounts. LTC Casino is crypto-only — no AUD, no documents — and its review names Pragmatic Play, with Sugar Rush, Sweet Bonanza and Gates of Olympus in the lobby. It is the one here where we have tested a withdrawal ourselves.

No review of ours records which RTP build a casino has loaded — Spin Samurai’s says so outright — or confirms it stocks the 1000 rather than the original, so search the lobby by name first.

Free demo

The demo button above opens Pragmatic Play’s own free-play build of Sugar Rush 1000 from the studio’s demo server, with the display set to Australian dollars. It is the full game on play-money credits, both buys included, running the studio’s default build — the 96.00%/96.53% question above, and not necessarily the version your casino has switched on.

Verdict

Sugar Rush 1000 is the original with a longer multiplier ladder, a five-times cap and one extra buy button. Nothing here raises expected return; it redistributes it towards outcomes you will most likely never see. If you like the mechanic, the original at a confirmed 96.50% is the better-understood version. If you want the bigger number, confirm which build your casino runs first.

FAQ

Is there a Sugar Rush 1000 free play demo? Yes. Pragmatic Play publishes an official demo, linked above, with play-money credits and both buys enabled.

What is the RTP of Sugar Rush 1000? Disputed. Pragmatic Play’s own page prints 96.00%; Bigwinboard, SlotCatalog and AskGamblers all record 96.53% as the default, with a 95.50% build also shipped. Check the info panel at your casino.

What is the difference between Sugar Rush and Sugar Rush 1000? The multiplier ceiling per spot (128x against 1,024x), the maximum win (5,000x against 25,000x) and an extra 500x feature buy. Grid, symbols, cluster rule and free-spins ladder are identical, and neither has an Ante Bet.
