The Bovada-group poker room and casino that has courted Australians since 2017 states fast crypto payouts, but Casino Guru rates its safety 3.5 (low) over confiscated winnings, AskGamblers refuses to list it because its parent is blacklisted, and the only licence is an Anjouan registration with no number in the footer.
Our verdict
Ignition is the Australian face of the Bodog–Bovada group and, for anyone who wants online poker with a real player pool, it is close to the only game in town: anonymous tables, a weekly $2,500 freeroll and a welcome package that hands half its value to poker. The casino side is smaller than the marketing suggests — the site itself says 300 to 400 slots, LCB counts about 1,450 — built on Realtime Gaming, Rival and Betsoft with Pragmatic Play and BGaming on top.
We do not recommend it, and the reason is the complaint record rather than the games. Casino Guru gives it a Safety Index of 3.5 (low) with 58 complaints on file, 12 unresolved and 37 rejected, including confiscated balances of $103,824, $19,000 and $8,400, and notes that the operator does not respond to third-party mediation. AskGamblers will not even publish a review because the same group runs Bovada, which it blacklisted. Trustpilot shows 64% one-star reviews among 1,317, many describing accounts closed after a big win. ACMA ordered Australian ISPs to block the site in January 2020 and issued formal warnings to the operating companies in 2023.
The licence does not help. The footer names Arachis Media Ltd as licensed by the Anjouan Gaming Board but prints no number; the register link goes to a different company, Bamboo Media, whose Anjouan registration runs to 2027, while the Arachis Media entry shows an expiry of 15 May 2026. If you play anyway, deposit and withdraw in crypto (cards cost 15.9% or more in fees), skip the bonus, and keep balances well under the $9,500 instalment size.
Bonuses: what the terms actually say
The welcome package depends on how you deposit. With crypto it is a 300% match up to $3,000, split into 150% up to $1,500 in casino bonus funds and 150% up to $1,500 in poker bonus. With a card it drops to 200% up to $2,000, split 100% and 100%. Minimum deposit $20, no code. The site shows every amount as a plain ”$” — we could not confirm whether Australian accounts run in AUD or USD.
The casino half is where the cost sits: “the deposit plus Casino bonus amount is subject to a 25X Casino playthrough requirement”, so a $100 crypto deposit with its $150 bonus means $6,250 of turnover before anything can be withdrawn. Maximum bet is 20% of the deposit. Slots count 100%, table games 20%, video poker and blackjack 10%, roulette and baccarat 5%, live dealer, craps and Hot Drop Jackpots 0%. Unmet rollover after six months forfeits bonus and winnings.
The poker half releases at $1 per 30 Ignition Miles earned within 30 days and carries no rollover. Regulars get a Thursday-to-Monday Weekly Boost crypto reload (accounts older than 30 days, terms revealed weekly), a Tell a Friend bonus of up to $425 at 25x, and Ignition Rewards, where slots earn 3 Miles per $1 and Miles convert to bonus cash at 2,500:1 on the lowest tier.

There is no PayID on the official cashier, and no POLi, bank transfer, Apple Pay or e-wallet either; the Australian landing page still mentions bank wire and cheque withdrawals, but the current help centre lists crypto, Voucher, Player Transfer and MatchPay only. Card deposits cost “15.9% or higher depending on the card” plus your bank’s cash-advance and conversion fees; crypto deposits are free.

Licence and safety
The footer reads: “Ignitioncasino.eu is operated by Bamboo Media registered under No. 11548 at Hamchako, Mutsamudu, Anjouan, Union of the Comoros. Arachis Media Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Anjouan Gaming Board.” No licence number is printed. The register link resolves to the Anjouan Offshore Finance Authority’s entry for Bamboo Media, licence L11548/MB, active until 15 May 2027 — partially confirmed. The same register’s entry for Arachis Media, the company named as licensee, shows an expiry of 15 May 2026, already past. Casino Guru records no licence at all.
The complaint record drives our verdict. Casino Guru: Safety Index 3.5 (low), 58 complaints — 2 open, 12 unresolved, 7 resolved, 37 rejected — 89,357 black points including 81,908 from related casinos, and a note that the operator “doesn’t react to 3rd party complaints”. The unresolved cases are the kind that matter: $103,824 in winnings confiscated, a $19,000 locked account, accounts closed with $8,400, $5,049, $3,500 and $2,300 inside. AskGamblers declined to review Ignition because “they are operated by the same group which stands behind Bovada — a brand which we have already blacklisted”. ACMA ordered ISPs to block Ignition Casino on 15 January 2020 under the Interactive Gambling Act, and in early 2023 issued formal warnings to Beaufort Media B.V. and Ridley Media N.V. over Ignition Casino and Joe Fortune. The terms contain no restricted-country list, only clauses making you responsible for local law, so Australia is not excluded; New Zealand players report being geo-blocked and NZD is not offered.
Mobile and support
Everything runs in the browser; there is no store app, though the poker client can be downloaded for desktop and two-factor authentication is offered. Support is a live-chat button in the cashier and a web form on the contact page; no hours are published, and Casino Guru’s tester recorded no working support at all.
